Hebrews 13:20-21

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

1.0 The Dimensions of Peace

1.1 Spiritual Peace

Numbers 6:24-26: The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Isaiah 48:22: “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked”

Romans 5:1: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1.2 Societal Peace

Isaiah 2:1-4: "It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, and many peoples shall come and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.' For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore"

Eph 2:13-14: But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.

1.3 Soul Peace

Gen 3:10: And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid… and I hid myself.”

John 16:33: I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

2.1 Temperament

2.2 Spiritual Issues (believer)

Psalm 32:1-3: Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,     whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,     and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away     through my groaning all day long.

3.0 A Life of Soul Peace

3.1 Ongoing Intimate Relationship With God

Matthew 11:28-29: Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
